JDC Central 2014 hosted by the University of Guelph
JDC Central is one of Canada’s fastest growing business competitions. This year there are nearly 600 competitors expected from 13 major business schools, making JDC Central one of the most prestigious business competitions in Canada. The three-day event focuses on Academic, Social, Athletic and Debate based competitions. This competition boasts the most talented and well rounded students from across Central & Atlantic Canada.
JDC Central takes place in late January every year. This year the University of Guelph is proud to host the event at their campus in Guelph, Ontario. This is the University of Guelph’s first year as the host.
Jeux du Commerce has witnessed tremendous success since its inception in Quebec in 1989. Over the course of its 25 years, it has become a prestigious annual event that brings together over 1200 of the top business students from across Quebec. Due to the success of Jeux du Commerce, the competition expanded to the rest of the country. In 2006, the inaugural Jeux du Commerce West, or JDC West for short, was held in Vancouver. In light of four successful years in western Canada, the competition took root in Eastern Canada for the first time. Under the name JDC Central, the competition was hosted by Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Management. Since then, JDC Central has been hosted by such universities as: Wilfrid Laurier, Carleton and Dalhousie. The Jeux du Commerce competitions invite hundreds of business students to compete annually in January, continuing a long legacy of academic integrity and competitive excellence.
