By-Laws

The CABS Bylaws serves as the governing framework for the policies and regulations of CABS. All regulations, resolutions, motions and decisions of the CABS, made by the Board and the Leadership Team, must be made in conformity with these Bylaws.

Business Ethics & HR Policy

The Business Ethics and Human Resources Policy provides the framework for cultivating and maintaining high professional standards among the employees of the Corporation. This Policy details how the Corporation is to undertake specific employee-related tasks, including how to recruit and hire employees, facilitate employee training, and address employee misconduct.

Committees Policy

The Committees Policy is to ensure that the responsibilities and expectations delegated to Board Committees by the Board of Directors are clear and well defined.

Conferences Policy

The Corporation is mandated to support the conference circuit for business students and business student leaders. This commitment to Canadians requires baseline standards for quality, sustainability and continual innovation and improvement. The Conferences Policy aims to provide the framework of rules for ensuring this ongoing commitment.

 

Elections Policy

The Elections Policy provides the framework for the Leadership team elections and defines the rules, systems, controls and procedures used by the Corporation in the process.

External Relations Policy

The External Relations Policy provides the framework for communicating with parties and individuals external to the Corporation. This Policy encourages Employees and responsible parties to maintain professionalism and objectivity, and ensure that its activities align with the mission and vision of the Corporation as outlined in the Strategic Planning and Vision Policy. Furthermore, this Policy delineates what information and responsibilities therefor are incumbent upon which portfolios of the Corporation to ensure proper delegation and internal communication.

 

Financial Management Policy

The Financial Management Policy defines the rules, systems, controls and procedures used by the Corporation for the management and protection of the assets of the Corporation. The Financial Management Policy also defines the fundamental principles and activities that apply to the conduct, bookkeeping, transactions, recording and reporting of the Corporation for accounting and taxation purposes. This Policy is sovereign to the By-Laws of the Corporation and is aligned with all other governing documents of CABS.

JDCC Policy

The JDCC Policy is to provide clear guidance to the JDC Central Stakeholders and to ensure consistency amongst every edition of JDC Central.

 

Membership Policy

The purpose of this policy is to render an evaluation for each member Business Student Association (BSA) of the Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS) that is fair, accurate, consistent, and free from personal bias.

Strategic Planning and Vision Policy

The Strategic Planning and Vision Policy provides the framework for developing and implementing Strategic Plans and the Strategic Vision. This Policy differentiates between year-over-year planning and in-year planning, and describes how these different approaches are to be harmonized. Further, this Policy describes the vision and mission of the Corporation.

The Canadian Association of Business Students has strict moral and ethical values to protect our
stakeholders and uphold the vision and mission of CABS. We seek to develop a community of stakeholders that abide by our moral and ethical
values to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all. The purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidance to CABS
Stakeholders and to ensure consistency amongst participants of all CABS events, taking place virtually and/or in person.
